Bhedam
To change the original… Sanskrit has one word which covers this vast process: bhedam. Bhedam is an international collective of progressive musicians. Prior to forming the group they had already played together in various combinations and discovered interesting common ground in their approaches to various music styles.

They discovered similarities in their strong affinity with non-Western influences in their own compositions and in their search for a new sound and for new ways, poised between composition and improvisation. The collaboration in Bhedam results in a new musical form, rich in emotion and power of persuasion: colourful and powerful music that has groovy moments, while at other times sounding like chamber or orchestral music. Improvisation takes centre stage and, due to the various musical backgrounds of the musicians, there are no set rules. Bhedam has toured once in the Netherlands and twice in India.
