Man Bites Dog Eats Amsterdam Klezmer Band
(TryTone TT 559-028)

MAN BITES DOG BALKAN BIG BAND OF AMSTERDAM ELECTRIC KLEZMER BAND?
In any case, modern jazz gets its teeth well and truly into the musical traditions of the Balkans. De Amsterdam Klezmer Band and Man Bites Dog come together to form a 10 man ensemble. The bands find common ground in their mutual love for the music of the Balkans, albeit from different perspectives: Man Bites Dog is a contemporary jazz band, focusing on improvisation. De Amsterdam Klezmer Band started as a traditional klezmer band, but in recent years has made its marks on the pop and jazz circuits.
